UGL | Altrad have been awarded a contract for Brownfields Onshore Implementation Services for Woodside. Services to be provided include the detailed planning and execution of access, fire protection application, blasting and painting, cladding and insulation, mechanical, pipe-spool equipment replacement, and electrical services.

The Role and Requirements

UAJV are seeking an experienced and technically sound Senior Planner to join our team for a FIFO role on the Karratha Gas Plant. The successful candidate will ensure all schedules are aligned to the project Norm activities and allow a safe and practical delivery of the work effort. Be responsible for the compilation, maintenance, and management of the Construction Schedule for scopes of work across all disciplines.

Reporting to the Project Controls Manager in Perth, you will work a FIFO 14 days on 14 days off roster. This role is due to commence in January 2023 and will be a part of an exciting project where your skills and experience will be key in succeeding more work for on-going opportunities!

Main Activities

  • Develop project schedules in consultation with project team leads
  • Prepare, revise and communicate scheduling procedures as necessary to ensure accurate, consistent and timely reporting
  • Understand work scope, quantity and be familiar with logical sequences in terms of fabrication and installation disciplines.
  • Understand contractual matters, earned value method, be familiar with scope management and change control.
  • Manage schedule, integrating work breakdown structure using scheduling software to ensure all activities within the Project scope of work are included in schedules
  • Assist Project Controls Services Lead with forecasting of progress, manpower and productivity.
  • Perform probabilistic analysis of completion dates and potential alternatives. Present risk-based analysis of most likely completion and expected deviation range.
  • Analyse gaps between the planned and actual progress and highlight the areas of concern which required action.
  • Contribute scheduling portion of the weekly, monthly quarterly progress reports
  • Develop and maintain a project specific data standard consistent with Group, regional and client requirements.
  • Participate in weekly cross discipline coordination meetings

Qualifications & Experience

To be successful in this position, you must possess resource industry experience along with:

  • 10-15 years relevant industry experience, including 5 years relevant industry planning experience
  • In depth hands-on understanding and experience in the use of Primavera P6 version 8 or above
  • Knowledge and expertise of workface planning practices, standards, systems, and processes relevant to the operations of the project.
  • Seasoned communication & coordination skills.
  • A fine attention to detail and compliance.
  • Experience working within a multi-cultural workforce is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a high functioning team.
  • Ability to pass a project specific pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol screen
