UGL | Cape have been awarded a contract for services on the Woodside operated Karratha Gas Plant Life Extension Program. Services to be provided include the detailed planning and execution of access, fire protection application, blasting and painting, cladding and insulation, mechanical, pipe-spool equipment replacement and electrical services.

The Project

Located 1,260 kilometres north of Perth, Western Australia and covering approximately 200 hectares, the Karratha Gas Plant includes five LNG processing trains, two domestic gas trains, six condensate stabilisation units, three LPG fractionation units as well as storage and loading facilities for LNG, LPG and condensate. The plant has the capacity to produce 12,000 tonnes of domestic gas per day.

The Role and Requirements

Cape Australia are seeking and experienced and technically sound Rope Access Supervisor to join our site team. This position attracts a fixed term contract for local and FIFO with full time entitlements working a 2 week on and 2 weeks off rotation.

This position is also open for current local or residential employee willing to relocate to Karratha where excellent incentivise are available such as:

Your main responsibilities will include managing and coordinating a team of multi-skilled Rope Access Technicians. Here the expectation is for you to coordinate all required rope access work tasks; ensure productivity, safety and quality standards are achieved in line with company expectations.

Main Activities

  • Actively participate & provide constructive feedback
  • Supervise crews of Multi-Skilled & Level Rope Access teams
  • Actively participate in running daily toolbox talks and pre-start
  • Commit to project completion goals
  • Deliver continuous improvement initiatives
  • Commitment towards facilitating a safe working environment

Qualifications & Experience

To be successful in this position, you must possess resource industry experience along with:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ supervisory experience preferably on live LNG projects
  • Current IRATA Certification
  • Relevant Trade Qualification is highly advantageous
  • Working at Heights national accreditation
  • Confined Space national accreditation
  • Experience working within a multi-cultural workforce is preferred
  • Commitment to health, safety, community and environment
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol screen
