Our multidisciplinary service offering includes the traditional services of scaffolding, rope access, insulation, protective coatings & blasting and passive fire protection as well as specialist services such as refractory, asbestos management, and advanced industrial cleaning and vaccumation of heat exchangers, pipes, tanks and vessels using high pressure water and chemicals.

The Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior ER/IR Advisor for a fixed-term duration of maternity leave coverage. You will be joining an enthusiastic HR team, reporting to the National IR/HR Director. The responsible candidate will promote, foster and facilitate employee relations across Cape’s projects by proactively implementing best practice strategies to support a diverse and multi-disciplined work force.

As part of our HR team, you will be responsible for:

  • Manage enterprise bargaining activities including but not limited to, negotiating, drafting and lodging enterprise agreements.
  • EA and Award interpretation with solid knowledge of Fair Work Act / Legislation;
  • Drafting and reviewing employment agreements, policies and procedures;
  • Prepare for and when necessary attend mediations, arbitration, and other court proceedings;
  • Provide input into operational activities to ensure alignment with enterprise agreement and legislation requirements;
  • Contribute to the organisation’s ongoing strategic development;
  • Manage disciplinary, performance management, investigations and other employee-related matters and grievances;
  • Partnering with front line leaders to provide support on key ER, IR and HR processes.

To be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications, Diploma in Human Resources is desired
  • 5 years’ experience in a similar role, providing assistance in performance management and workplace investigations
  • Experience working within a contractor environment specigically within the resources and maintenance sector
  • Sound influencing and communication skills
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking and prioritizing skills
  • Be an outgoing, people person, with the ability to liaise and interact with all levels of internal and external stakeholders, in a professional environment
