The Project

BHP Billiton Nickel West today comprises the following operations in Western Australia. The Kwinana Nickel Refinery is located 30 kilometers south of Perth. The nickel mined in Kalgoorlie is refined at the Kwinana plant using an ammonia-leach process that has a capacity to manufacture 65,000 tonnes of nickel metal a year.

The Position

We are seeking applications from experienced Laggers to join our team for the upcoming shutdown. The scope of work is expected to commence on the 2nd October 2019 for an approximate 6 – 8 week duration. To be considered for this role, you will be required to live locally in Perth and available to undertake site specific training assessments prior to the commencement date.

Mandatory requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working as an Insulator/Lagger
  • Proven experience, preferably working in a large-scale construction environment within the Mining & Resources Industry
  • Current Working at Heights and Confined Space (less than 2 years old)
  • Valid drivers licence and reliable transport
  • Hold a nationally accredited OHS Card (White/Blue Card)
  • Ability to pass a project specific pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol screen
