The Joint Venture

UGL | Cape have been awarded a contract for services on the Woodside operated Karratha Gas Plant Life Extension Program. Services to be provided include the detailed planning and execution of access, fire protection application, blasting and painting, cladding and insulation, mechanical, pipe-spool equipment replacement and electrical services.

The Project

Located 1,260 kilometres north of Perth, Western Australia and covering approximately 200 hectares, the Karratha Gas Plant includes five LNG processing trains, two domestic gas trains, six condensate stabilisation units, three LPG fractionation units as well as storage and loading facilities for LNG, LPG and condensate. The plant has the capacity to produce 12,000 tonnes of domestic gas per day.

The Role and Requirements

Cape Australia is currently seeking experienced and qualified Painter/Blasters for upcoming work at Woodside's Karratha Gas Plant, working a 19 & 9 Roster in a Fly in / Fly out capacity from Perth with accommodation provided at a purpose-built camp. You will be working as part of a team, working on a project, where the highest levels of safety are required.

To be considered you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • To be considered you must currently reside in Perth
  • Credible experience of industrial scale Industrial Painting and Blasting
  • You'll be appropriately skilled and qualified within your chosen trade, to successfully complete the following verification of competency assessments
    • Plant & Equipment set-up & operation
    • Abrasive blasting
    • Coatings application (by brush & roller and/or airless & conventional spray)
  • Hold a nationally accredited OHS card (White/Blue card)
  • The ability to follow procedures and work in a safety conscious manner is essential
  • You will be required to complete and pass a project specific pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol screen
  • A flexible and adaptable attitude is a must; working with multi disciplines in a high pressure shutdown environment on Karratha Gas Plant
